About KADC

KaliAndrews Dance Company opened its doors in Ottawa’s southeast end in 2009. Since the beginning, the studio has been guided by a vision of creating a memorable experience and a welcoming, family-like environment for all KADC families. With a commitment to strong, fundamental dance training delivered in a professional setting, the studio has continued to grow and evolve, developing programs that support dancers of all ages and levels.

 

Providing endless opportunities, nurturing the dance teachers of tomorrow, and fostering the growth of each individual dancer remains at the heart of KADC’s mission.

Explore What We Offer

We offer a wide variety of traditional dance styles such as Ballet and Pointe, Jazz, Lyrical and Contemporary, Hip Hop and Tap. We also specialize in circus-based dance styles such as Acrobatic Dance, Stunting, Tumbling, Balancing and Contortion.

Situated in Ottawa’s southeast end, KADC has been training students in recreational, competitive, and professional capacities for over a decade. No matter your interest, we’re sure to have the right class for you! Beginners and advanced students are welcome, starting as young as age 3.

Dance Programs

KaliAndrews Dance Company offers programs at the recreational level for those who are new to dance or who simply want to have fun, keep fit, and learn new dance techniques. This no-pressure environment has no performance expectations other than your own.

KADC also offers programs at the competitive level for the more serious dancer who wants to push his or her personal limits, perform in front of a live audience, and compete with other dancers. Physical fitness and previous dance experience are a must in order to produce the finest stage performances.

Teacher Training

Also available is the “Teachers Training Program” designed specifically to form the dance teachers of tomorrow. This program teaches the essentials of Technique Development, Choreography, Spotting Techniques, Correcting Faults, Student Motivation, Exam Preparation, Costume Design, and much more. KADC also offers a “Teacher Apprenticeship” program, available to all assistant teachers.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We accept a maximum of 20 students per class. We can accommodate up to 75 students when we open up our entire space for workshops and events!

Each class has one certified instructor. Classes between the ages of 3 to 7, have one certified instructor and one assistant. Classes with more than 12 participants will have one certified instructor with two assistants.

All of our instructors are over the age of 18 and have successfully completed the BATD (British Association of Teachers of Dancing) Associate’s Exam in their designated dance style (where applicable). Many of our instructors are former competitive dancers with 10 or more years of dance experience.

Yes! Each year in June, we hold our annual year-end recital. The show features all of our recreational dancers and many of our competitive dancers! Aerial Acrobatic students will have an 'open house' in the studio during the last class of Term 2.

The $30 costume deposit is like a down payment. This is paid upfront when registering for the recital term (Term 2 & Session 3). Recital costumes will be finalized and billed at the end of May. We try our best to keep costumes under $75.00; however this is not always possible. In some cases, there may be a small additional balance owing for your costume. The costume is, of course, yours to keep.

Registration and Course fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.

In the event of illness or injury, course credits will be given with receipt of a doctor’s note.
In the event that a dancer feels their course is not a good fit for them, we will be happy to switch the dancer to another course of equal value at absolutely no cost. If the dancer chooses to withdraw completely, tuition fees will be credited to your account. Credits do not expire and can be used toward any future classes.

A $50.00 cancellation fee (per course) will be applied to ALL withdrawals regardless of the reason.

All withdrawals must be submitted in writing via email. No course credits will be applied without this notification. Credits will be calculated based on the date we receive this withdrawal notification.

Credit is not given for missed lessons or for holidays.

Any withdrawals after April 1st remain subject to all recital fees, including costumes.
