Ballet & Pointe Classes in Ottawa & North Dundas
Beginner Ballet to Advanced Pointe classes start as young as Age 5!
Ballet dance classes focus on the principles and steps on which almost all dance styles were founded. With a solid ballet foundation, dancers can transfer their skills into other dance forms to enhance their versatility. While all styles of dance tend to compliment one another, Ballet technique is the foundation for many other dance styles and is a highly recommended addition to any dancers course load.
This class includes beginner to advanced pointe techniques focusing on building the fundamentals and strength of pointe at the barre and progressing into the centre with more challenging steps. Students not yet on pointe would require an assessment prior to beginning the class. Dancers with previous pointe experience are permitted to sign up without an assessment.
Each semester runs for 18 weeks. Term 1 includes an optional examination after the semester is complete (grade level classes only). Term 2 includes a Professional Performance in KADC’s Year-End Recital (grade level and open classes only).
Beginners are welcome to join our Pre-Primary to Grade 3 level classes, as well as our Open and Technique classes. Students wishing to attend any Grade 4 level to Advanced level classes, must complete the BATD Syllabus Exam to enter. If no exam has been taken, students will be placed into our Open Ballet classes which do not include any exam preparation, but still includes all other elements practised in the Graded level classes.
To enter a class without completing the required examination, an assessment package must be submitted by the student.
