Get fit and have fun with dance! KaliAndrews Dance Company currently offers a variety of adult dance classes for ages 19 and up.

Taking a class at KADC is a great way to get your heart rate up, tone your major muscle groups, maintain/gain flexibility and meet new people while you have a blast! Beginners are welcome in ALL of our Adult classes!

Fall 2016 / Winter 2017: Class Times & Prerequisites

Adult Dance Classes run in 9-week sessions. $153 + HST per session. New sessions start in September, November, February & April. To see the schedule for our North Dundas location, click here.

Class Time: Thursdays at 8:15 PM. This is a 60-minute class.

Class Description: This is a freestyle class focusing on movements to today’s popular pop and hip hop music. Best suited for beginners.

Prerequisites: None. Beginners are welcome. Session 4 registrants should have experience in at least one previous session, as these dancers will be performing in our year-end recital.

Dress Code: Lose clothing such as T-Shirts, Tank Tops, Sweat Pants, Shorts or Leggings. Indoor sneakers only please. Girls’ hair should be neatly tied up in a ponytail.

Year-End Performance: Session 4 students are encouraged to invite guests to view our Recital at The Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau, QC. Tickets will be available for purchase in advance but please note that Photos and Videos are NOT permitted during the show. DVD’s are available for purchase and include all of our performances photos and videos.

Class Time: Mondays at 9:00 PM. This is a 60-minute class.

Class Description: This is an open class focusing on the development of basic to advanced skills with both the Aerial Hoop and Silks. Teachers coach with modern circus techniques and help prepare students to maintain a professional standard. Note: Students must sign up for Hoop OR Silks separately.

Open House: An open house is included during the last class of each session. Aerialists will spend time throughout the session to put together their own performance pieces. Under the direction of KADC’s staff, you will have the opportunity to learn how to put choreography together, receive advice on music selections and adequate practice time in preparation for your In-Studio performance. Students are permitted to invite guests to view the final class of the Session in our studio while each participant presents their own piece in front of a small audience. Photos and Videos are permitted.

Prerequisites: Students must meet the following requirements:
• Must be comfortable hanging upside down
• Can do one full chin-up without assistance
• Can do one full push up from toes
• Can touch toes standing (pike position) without bending knees
• Understands that this course is both physically and mentally challenging – Can comprehend and follow instructions well

Dress Code: Participants are asked to wear tight, fitted clothing covering as much skin as possible. Bra Tops, Tanks and Shorts are not appropriate attire for Aerials classes as having skin exposed during training can cause burns, scrapes and/or bruising from the repetition and constant rehearsal on the apparatus. KADC may not permit participation if students are not adhering to our dress code policies. Inadequate attire can become a safety hazard. KADC recommends tight, fitted long sleeved shirts, leggings, tights etc. Bare Feet. Hair should be neatly tied up in a ponytail or a Ballet Bun.

Class Description: In this class, each student will learn the disciplines of stretching and strengthening, as well as correct technique. Partner assisted stretching and props such as chairs, yoga blocks and Pilates rings can be used as well.

Prerequisites: None. Beginners are welcome.

Dress Code: Tight, fitted clothing such as tank tops, body suits, shorts, tights or leggings. Bare Feet. Ponytail or bun.

Class Time: Wednesdays at 8:00 PM. This is a 60-minute class.

Class Description: An open class designed for those without much previous ballet experience, however advanced dancers are always welcome!

Prerequisites: None. Beginners are welcome.

Dress Code: Tight, fitted clothing such as tank tops, body suits, shorts, tights or leggings. Ponytail or bun. Socks or ballet slippers.
